Irving Road, George Town, Penang (25 November 2012)


Jalan Irving, formerly called Irving Road, is one of the minor roads in the older suburb of George Town. It links Dato Kramat Road with Jalan Kerian.

Irving Road was named after Charles John Irving, who was acting Lieutenant Governor of Penang in 1879-1880, Resident Councillor of Penang (1885-1887). Irving was also the Auditor General working for Archibald Anson, after whom Anson Road was named.

Getting there

The nearest bus stop is at Dato Kramat Road. Rapid Penang Bus 11, 201, 202, 203, 204, 206, 301, 302 and 502 pass through Dato Kramat Road.
