Bukit Merah, Perak (6 September, 2015)
Bukit Merah (GPS: 5.0328, 100.64901) is a small town in the
Kerian district, Perak. Located near
Bagan Serai, Bukit Merah got its name from a hillock in the area. The town is located by the banks of a 7000-acre lake, one of the biggest freshwater lakes in Malaysia. The British built a railway line right across the lake in the 1920's, and this line is still being used today.
Nowadays, Bukit Merah is synonymous with the
Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, which I shall describe within its own page.
