Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station (SA10) (GPS: 3.07989, 101.54908) is an elevated light rail transit station on the LRT Shah Alam Line (LRT3) serving the Shah Alam sports complex and surrounding areas in Shah Alam, Selangor. Located between Kerjaya LRT Station (SA09) and Dato Menteri LRT Station (SA12), the station provides convenient rail access to one of Shah Alam's best-known landmarks and nearby residential, educational and commercial developments. There is no operational Station SA11, as the originally planned Persiaran Hishamuddin LRT Station was subsequently shelved and the partially completed structure was repurposed as a tunnel ventilation control station. Operated by Rapid Rail as part of the Rapid KL network, Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station forms part of the LRT Shah Alam Line linking Bandar Utama with Johan Setia.1
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station was constructed as part of the LRT Shah Alam Line to provide direct public transport access to the Shah Alam sports precinct and surrounding neighbourhoods. Since the line commenced passenger operations in 2025, the station has become an important gateway for commuters travelling to educational institutions, recreational facilities and commercial developments in central Shah Alam. It also serves visitors attending sporting and community events within the area.2
The station derives its name from the iconic Shah Alam Stadium complex, long recognised as one of Selangor's principal sporting venues. Although the original stadium has since undergone major redevelopment, the station continues to serve the wider sports and recreation precinct together with surrounding residential communities.3
The LRT Shah Alam Line originally included an additional station, Persiaran Hishamuddin LRT Station (SA11), between Stadium Shah Alam and Dato Menteri. During the final stages of project planning, this station was omitted from passenger operations, and the structure was instead adapted for railway engineering purposes as a tunnel ventilation control station. As a result, station numbering proceeds directly from SA10 to SA12.4
This unusual numbering reflects the station's original place in the railway design while preserving consistency with the line's engineering documentation and station coding system.5
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station is situated within the sports and recreational precinct of Shah Alam. The surrounding area includes sporting facilities, educational institutions, residential neighbourhoods and commercial developments, making the station an important destination for both daily commuters and visitors.6
Nearby landmarks include the Shah Alam Stadium redevelopment site, Stadium Malawati, the Panasonic Sports Complex, Management & Science University (MSU), AEON Mall Shah Alam and several government offices. The station also provides convenient access to Section 13 and neighbouring parts of Shah Alam.7
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station is served exclusively by the LRT Shah Alam Line (LRT3), providing direct rail services between Bandar Utama and Johan Setia through Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.8
The station is located between:
Although the station numbering skips from SA10 to SA12, trains travel directly between Stadium Shah Alam and Dato Menteri without an intermediate passenger station. The former Persiaran Hishamuddin station site now functions as railway infrastructure supporting tunnel ventilation and operational safety rather than passenger services.9
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station is an elevated station incorporating the contemporary architectural design adopted throughout the LRT Shah Alam Line. The station provides spacious concourse areas, sheltered public spaces and modern passenger amenities designed to accommodate both daily commuters and larger crowds attending sporting or public events.10
The station features an island platform, allowing passengers travelling in both directions to board trains from a single central platform. This arrangement supports efficient passenger circulation while simplifying access between station entrances and train services.11
Facilities available include:
The station has been designed as a fully accessible public transport facility with lifts, wheelchair-accessible fare gates, tactile guidance paths and step-free access throughout. These features ensure convenient travel for elderly passengers, wheelchair users, families with young children and passengers with reduced mobility.12
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station is connected to surrounding areas through feeder buses, taxis, ride-hailing services and pedestrian walkways. Its location within one of Shah Alam's principal activity centres makes it an important transport hub for commuters travelling to educational institutions, sporting venues and nearby commercial developments.13
Stadium Shah Alam LRT Station plays an important role in serving central Shah Alam by providing efficient rail access to one of the city's major sports and recreation districts. Together with neighbouring stations, it strengthens the LRT Shah Alam Line as the principal public transport corridor linking Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang while supporting sustainable urban mobility across Selangor.14
The station is also noteworthy for its place within the line's numbering system. The omission of Station SA11 reflects a rare example in Malaysia's urban rail network where a planned passenger station was permanently repurposed as railway infrastructure, leaving Stadium Shah Alam directly connected to Dato Menteri despite the numerical gap.15
