Temasya LRT Station

Temasya LRT Station (SA08) is a future elevated light rail transit station on the LRT Shah Alam Line (LRT3) serving the Temasya and Glenmarie areas of Shah Alam, Selangor. Situated between Glenmarie 2 LRT Station (SA07) and Kerjaya LRT Station (SA09), the station was initially designated as a provisional station following the project's cost rationalisation exercise. Although the station structure was constructed together with the rest of the LRT Shah Alam Line, passenger services were deferred. It is currently scheduled to commence operations in 2031, when it will improve rail accessibility for the Temasya township and surrounding commercial developments.1

Quick Facts

Introduction

Temasya LRT Station forms part of the LRT Shah Alam Line connecting Bandar Utama with Johan Setia. Although the station was physically completed together with the rest of the railway infrastructure, it did not open when the line commenced passenger operations. Trains currently pass through the station without stopping, pending its planned opening in 2031.2

When it becomes operational, the station will serve the Temasya township, Temasya Suria commercial district and surrounding parts of Glenmarie. It is expected to improve public transport accessibility for residents, office workers and visitors while supporting continued development in this rapidly growing part of Shah Alam.3

History

Temasya LRT Station was included in the original plans for the LRT Shah Alam Line. During the 2018 project cost rationalisation exercise, it became one of five stations designated as provisional stations, resulting in the postponement of passenger operations despite the station remaining part of the railway alignment.4

In October 2023, the Malaysian Government announced that all five provisional stations, including Temasya, would be reinstated as part of the completed project. Although the station structure was built together with the line, passenger operations were deferred, with the station now expected to open in 2031.5

Station Location

Temasya LRT Station is located along Persiaran Kerjaya in the Glenmarie area of Shah Alam, close to the Temasya mixed development. The surrounding area comprises residential neighbourhoods, commercial premises, offices and light industrial developments, making the station well positioned to serve both local residents and employees.6

Among the developments in the vicinity are Temasya Suria, Temasya Suria Glenmarie Residence and Masjid An Nur Temasya Glenmarie. Once operational, the station is expected to become an important public transport gateway for these communities.7

Rail Services

Temasya LRT Station will be served exclusively by the LRT Shah Alam Line (LRT3), which links Bandar Utama with Johan Setia through Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang. The line forms one of the principal east-west rail corridors in Selangor.8

The station is located between:

Until passenger services commence, trains continue to operate directly between Glenmarie 2 and Kerjaya without stopping at Temasya. Following its opening, the station will become an additional stop serving the northern section of Shah Alam.9

Station Design

Temasya LRT Station is an elevated station built according to the standard architectural design adopted for the LRT Shah Alam Line. The station incorporates sheltered platforms, spacious concourses and energy-efficient systems while providing a comfortable environment for passengers.10

The station features side platforms, with separate platforms serving trains in each direction. The platforms are connected through the station concourse, allowing passengers to move safely between entrances and boarding areas.11

Facilities provided at the station include:

Accessibility

Temasya LRT Station has been designed as a fully accessible facility with barrier-free access throughout. Lifts, wheelchair-accessible fare gates, tactile guidance paths and step-free circulation routes ensure that passengers of all abilities will be able to use the station comfortably when it enters service.12

Future Role

When Temasya LRT Station opens in 2031, it will close one of the remaining gaps in passenger coverage along the LRT Shah Alam Line. The station is expected to support continued growth within the Temasya and Glenmarie areas while reducing dependence on private vehicles for journeys to Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.13

Together with the future opening of the other deferred stations, Temasya LRT Station will help complete the original vision for the LRT Shah Alam Line by providing more comprehensive rail coverage across western Selangor and supporting transit-oriented development around the station precinct.14
