Reservoir Garden, Air Itam, Penang (18 May 2013)
Reservoir Garden (GPS: 5.40839, 100.28651) is a housing estate within the Ayer Puteh neighbourhood of Air Itam, Penang. The houses here were built in the early 1960s. The area took its name from the Ayer Itam Reservoir located adjacent to it. As most of the land here has been used for residential development, there has not been much in terms of new properties built here.
The main road into Reservoir Garden is Jalan Ayer Puteh. At the junction with Lengkok Kolam Air, it continues as Reservoir Garden Road. The Ayer Puteh neighbourhood stretches all the way to Jalan Air Itam. It includes the commercial area near the Jalan Air Itam main road. There used to be a theatre here, the Chong Nam, which has since ceased operations. The area also has a number of coffee shops attracting customers from the surrounding housing estates.
