Hub Synergy Point, Singapore

Hub Synergy Point (GPS: 1.27418, 103.84479) is a now demolished 28-storey building in downtown Singapore. It used to be located at the corner of Anson Road with Enggor Street. In late May 2007, the owners of the building communicated to its 30+ tenants the decision to demolish it.

According to a Straits Times report, the decision to demolish Hub Synergy Point caught some tenants by surprise, as some have just spent a lot of money renovating their premises. This includes Jiak Kopi Cafe, which spent more than S$100,000 to renovate in order to occupy the ground floor at the end of February 2017.

According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the maximum height allowed on the Hub Synergy Point plot is 35 storey. This is a mere 7 storeys more than the previous building, which was 28 storeys. Another possible reason for demolishing is that the building is aged, having been completed in 1973, and a reconstruction will attract high-paying rental.

On foot, Hub Synergy Point is 300 meters from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station (EW15).
