Penang Road is a major road in Singapore. It is within the Museum Planning Area and Orchard Planning Area. It runs in an east-west direction with traffic flowing in a single direction from east to west. Penang Road starts at the convergence of Orchard Road and Stamford Road, and ends at the intersection with Killiney Road, where it continues as Somerset Road.

Penang Road was created in 1906, and was named after the then Straits Settlement of Penang. As it was an extension of Somerset Road, there was an initial plan to call it Somerset Road. However, as the address of properties on Somerset Road begins from the intersection with Killiney Road, and if the name Somerset Road were to be used on this new section, all the properties would have to be re-numbered. To avoid the inconvenience, the name Penang Road was accepted. There is also a Penang Road in Penang while in Kuala Lumpur, the former Penang Road is now called Jalan Pinang.
