Thew Chik Café (GPS: 5.41886, 100.33546) is a Hainanese Chicken Rice shop along Chulia Street. It is located at the junction with Rope Walk. The Goh Thew Chik Hainanese Chicken Rice has been operating here since the middle part of the 20th century. Chicken rice was once regarded as food for those with means, at a time when chicken was considered a delicacy reserved for special occasions.

Goh Thew Chik Hainanese Chicken Rice is still doing good business from its devoted customers. I have eaten here only before, but does not find the chicken rice to be particularly outstanding. Having said that, I can say that it is still the most convenient for budget travelers living in the guesthouses along Chulia Street.
