Wisma Yatim Laki-Laki Islam Pulau Pinang (3 September 2008)


Wisma Yatim Laki-Laki Islam Pulau Pinang (GPS: 5.40441, 100.29177) or Penang Muslim Boys Orphanage is an orphanage for Muslim boys along Jalan Air Itam, in Air Itam, Penang. It is located at the junction of Jalan Air Itam with Jalan Thean Teik, within the Malay settlement of Kampung Baru.

Wisma Yatim Laki-Laki Islam Pulau Pinang building was officiated by then Chief Minister of the Federation of Malaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, on 20 October, 1956. The building has two wings with a minaret in the centre. The minaret it stopped with an onion dome with a pointed spire ending with a crescent-moon-and-star emblem. The building has a rusticated finish of Shanghai plaster. A porch was later erected in front of the building.
