Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar (GPS: 1.4569, 103.75118) in Johor Bahru is the state mosque of Johor. The mosque was constructed from 1892 to 1900, and was opened by Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Abu Bakar in 1900. It was named after his father, the late Sultan Abu Bakar Daeng, who ordered its construction.

Unlike most mosques in the country, the Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar was built in in the Victorian architectural style with an eclectic mix of other elements. You can see this from the four minarets of the mosque that look like British clock towers. In fact the architect is not British. He was Tuan Haji Mohamed Arif bin Punak, who worked under the supervision of the government engineer Dato' Yahya bin Awalluddin. The mosque stands on a small hill overlooking the Strait of Johor.
