Stadium Merdeka is a sports stadium in Kuala Lumpur. Located along Jalan Stadium, it was built on the occasion of the declaration of independence of Malaysia on 31 August, 1957. The name "merdeka" means independence.

Stadium Merdeka has a seating capacity of 20,000 for football matches. It was expanded to 45,000 capacity, but in the restoration of 2007, returned to its original 1957 seating capacity.

How to reach Stadium Merdeka

You can reach Stadium Merdeka by car via Jalan Stadium. By public transport, you can take the KL Monorail to the stadium. The Maharajalela Monorail Station is located nearest to the stadium.
