Tapak Urban Street Dining (GPS: 3.16034, 101.71562) is a site for street dining in Kuala Lumpur. Part of an open space that is temporarily used as a car park, it doubles as an urban street dining venue. The site is located at the junction of Jalan Ampang and Persiaran Hampshire.
Tapak Urban Street Dining brings together some 40 food trucks selling all sorts of street food. Among the items that I cam across include Roti John, Ayam Goreng Kunyit, Pau, Tacos, Crepes, Coffee, Shakes, and many more. The food truck vendors begin their trade from 6:00 pm until 12:00 midnight Mondays to Thursdays, until 3:00 am on Fridays, and from 3:00 pm to 3:00 am during the weekends.
Diners to Tapak Urban Street Dining can park their car at the adjoining car park. The parking fee (as of June, 2017) is RM2 per entry. I chanced upon this food truck site when I was walking along Jalan Ampang to photograph its sights. When I pass by, I saw that the food trucks have just arrived and the vendors were setting up to business later in the day.
