Penang Medical College, Sepoy Lines Road (8 March 2009)


The Penang Medical College is a private college in George Town. Its campuses are at Sepoy Lines Road and Residency Road. It occupies the premises of the former Penang Home for the Infirm and Aged or Rumah Orang Tua Uzur Pulau Pinang.

The Penang Medical College was established in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (RCSI), and the University College Dublin (UCD). It provides courses in medicine, surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, psychiatry, and paediatrics, among others.

The main campus of the Penang Medical College is on Sepoy Lines Road.

The centre at Jalan Residensi is located within a bungalow that used to be the official residence of the Mayor of George Town. The building was sold under the term of D.S. Ramanathan, who deemed it too extravagant for him.

Getting there

There aren't any bus stops in the immediate vicinity. The nearest is along Residency Road ten minutes on foot. It is served by Rapid Penang bus 10, 304 and 306.
