The London Borough of Hackney is a borough of Greater London. It is one of the boroughs of Inner London located in North London. The borough has an area of 19 sq km (7.4 sq mi) and a population of 212,200 people.

Hackney is located north of the City of London. To its southwest are the neighbourhoods of Hoxton and Shoreditch, both popular clubbing areas of London.

How to reach Hackney

Hackney is not well served by public transport. The only station of the London Underground in Hackney is the Manor House Tube Station, which is at the northwestern tip of the borough near London Borough of Haringey. The other nearest station is the Old Street Tube Station, which is just a few yards outside Hackney, in the London Borough of Islington.
